Fake Oakleys Peer Observation and Standard 8

Today’s post is the last of 2013 and it looks at how setting up Peer Observations can help you Fake Oakleys sale online evidence Standard 8.

Peer Observation and Standard 8

Peer observation can provide an opportunity for you and your team to identify and build on your strengths and celebrate good practice. If you can take the lead in setting up a peer observation system in your setting then this would provide evidence of your leadership role for Standard 8.

However, you will need to be aware that practitioners may feel uncomfortable evaluating their colleagues’ practice or feel exposed themselves. One way to deal with this is to make sure that there is a clear purpose and structure to the observations and that everyone can agree on ground rules . You may need to think about how to foster a positive, reflective culture in your setting, so that these observations naturally become part of a non-judgmental, collaborative ethos.

In a case study on peer observation in ‘Under 5’s, the Magazine of the Pre-school Learning Alliance’, the staff team at Acorn Grove Nursery in Manchester decided on an approach to peer observation that involved videoing peer observations and reflection. Staff felt more comfortable with this system as they could observe and reflect on their own as well as others’ practice.

The manager herself noted that it was important that she was observed, that she put herself in her colleagues shoes and led by example.
